The intensity of this fire can be seen in the blistering on the trunk of this ponderosa pine.

I thought we might see a deer or elk. . .

What a surprise to see this long horn was just guarding the southern Colorado forest on a recent afternoon.  It's hard to figure out how she manages those long horns in such a dense forest.
